Playdate at Promenade

We are always eager to meet our friends for playdates, but if shopping and dining out are involved, all the better!

There is a special kind of joy when two redheads spot each other! Here, Vincent and Bradie share a kiss hello.

Jenny chose to do a little light reading before joining in the fun.

Bradie was THRILLED to be out and about with the big kids. Finally!

The ever-photogenic Maggie Hart took a turn going down the slide.

Katy appears to be thinking: This slide looks a little steeper from up here! She toughed it out, of course!

Maryann and Vincent preparing for a trip to the potty. Way to go, Big Guy!

After a raucous good time at the lunch table, it's pretty easy to spot the troublemakers in this group.

Jenny is bushed. Babysitting these toddlers has worn her smooth! See you next time!

A Day at the Park

Daddy, Mommy and the girls went to the neighborhood park last week and had a blast! Katy has gotten so active and adventuresome recently. She's become quite the little daredevil! She loves to climb, swing, slide and jump the whole time we are at the park.

Of course, she thinks it is especially fun if she can make Mommy climb, swing, slide and jump too!

As you can see by Jenny's smile, she had a great time even though she is still confined to her pesky stroller.

Everyone was hot and tired so it was time to head home. Juice and naps for everybody!!

Proud Papa

Papa Bear has been smiling this way nearly non-stop ever since we brought our little cubs home. The girls are pretty happy too; he's a great daddy!

Can you name that baby?

We all took turns wearing Vincent's bunny glasses. Can you tell which kiddo is behind the disguise?

Hint: Poor Katy was the sad little bunny. She had a little trouble with the idea of sharing the bunny glasses. Who could blame her? They are wicked cool!

Playdate Crystal Ball

Sometimes at playdate, we get a glimpse into some future career options for our friends.

Is Katy going to be a basketball star? Maggie's not so sure.

Vincent definitely gets to practice a veterinarian's bedside manner with Daisy Girl.

Watch out Danica! Bradie is hot on your tail!

Little Jenny: she's gorgeous, she sits around and lets people wait on her hand and foot. Future beauty queen, perhaps?

Easter Dinner and Egg Hunt

This was our first year to host Easter dinner at our house. It was a lot of work but very rewarding and fun to be the "grown-ups" for the first time. Josh and Monica helped Katy finish her dinner so all of the kids could go Easter egg hunting. Grandma Rose supervised. We still aren't sure if Uncle Dennis was rocking Jenny to sleep or vice versa.

Easter Morning

It's a tradition in our house to go to church early on Easter Sunday morning and then come home and check out what the Easter Bunny brought. Katy was mostly interested in the CANDY, of course!

Eggs to Dye For

We were all very egg-cited to dye Easter eggs this year, so we spent Holy Saturday morning coloring eggs. Even Daddy Bunny got into the act. His egg dyeing skills are egg-cellent! After we were finished, Mommy Bunny hid all of the colored eggs outside and, due to the cold snap, Katy Bunny bundled up and went hunting. She loved this hide and seek so much, we got a lot of practice in for the next day. In fact, we were worried that she wouldn't find many Easter eggs on Sunday and the older cousins might kind of bulldoze her, but she actually found the most eggs! The only way this past weekend could have been more fun is if Jenny Bunny was old enough to color and hunt Easter eggs too. Just wait until next year!

Duckies

Katy's favorite thing to do is play outside. Fortunately, we have a nice, big backyard with lots of fun activities and neat things to see. Sometimes we even catch a glimpse of wild animals. A couple of weeks ago, there was an injured raccoon in one of our trees. A week ago, Daddy was out late in the evening and saw a giant great horned owl swoop down and try and pick up a stray cat walking down the street in front of our house. (Both the cat and the raccoon got away just fine. We don't know what the poor ol' owl had for dinner, though!) On this day, Katy and Mommy found two mallard ducks in our far backyard. They didn't want much to do with us, though, even when we offered them some bread so we decided to go back to our yard and play. Jenny woke up just in time to enjoy the beautiful spring day with her family.

Difference of Opinion

Katy and I sometimes disagree about things. Last Friday, I prepared her for playdate by dressing her for warm weather. She clearly had a different opinion and came out of her bedroom looking like this.
